Nick picked up the guitar at the age of 10, and has never looked back since. The sounds of guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix, Jeff beck, Eric Clapton and many more gave Nick a keen interest in Blues and Rock from an early age. Nick continued to play guitar and study music throughout high school. He was self taught until he went to Tech Music Schools in London and graduated for a BMus (Hons) degree in Music Performance. Here he was taught by jazz virtuoso John Wheatcroft, as well as undergoing private teaching from rock specialist Jim Clark. This helped kick start Nicks’ career in becoming a full time professional guitarist.

Nick has played at some of the most prestigious venues across London and the UK, including Shepherds Bush Empire, O2 Islington Academy, The Borderline, as well as many others, and has also had experience in a variety of session work and cover projects.

Nick is known for being former lead guitarist in rock band New Device (Abstract Sounds Records) and his playing can be heard on the bands second album ‘Here we stand’.

Nick teaches a number of private guitar lessons, as well as teaching in various London schools. He teaches a variety of music from Classical and Jazz, to Rock and Pop styles. He is also able to teach high levels of composition, music theory, and sound engineering/mixing.

Nick finished his Further Education teacher training and is a qualified lecturer. Since 2014, he worked as a Music Lecturer at Uxbridge College. His main duties included delivering on the Level 2 & 3 Extended Diploma in Music and Music Technology.

Nick is an experienced and versatile UK guitar tutor and performer with over 15 years playing experience, as well as 7 years experience as a professional musician. With this in mind, you can be certain that Nick is dedicated to music and passionate about sharing it with others.
